How a custom-fit blouse cutting farma is drafted from your measurements, which of the 22 models to choose, and how to order one.
A blouse cutting farma is the paper pattern you lay on the cloth and cut around. A blouse is fitted at the bust, the armhole and the shoulder all at once, so it shows a badly drafted pattern faster than any other garment. This guide explains how our custom-fit blouse farma is made and how to order one.
What you receive
Size Hub sends a physical paper pattern, cut in our workshop in Coimbatore and posted anywhere in India. Nothing is downloaded or printed at your end. The seam allowance is already outside the cut line, and the darts, notches and grain direction are printed on the sheet. You place it on the fabric and cut.
How the fit is decided
Two people with the same bust measurement can need different blouses. The upper chest - taken above the bust, across the top of the ribcage - decides the neckline, the shoulder width and the armhole. The bust measurement is used where it belongs, at the dart and the waist. A custom blouse farma is drafted from both, so the neck does not gape and the armhole does not bind.
22 blouse models
- Three dart and four dart blouses
- Princess cut and katori
- Boat neck and close neck
- Puff sleeve styles
- Back-open patterns
Most models come with or without a belt. You can see them all on the blouse cutting farma page, and compare necklines on blouse neck designs.
How to order
- Choose the model and any neck or sleeve options.
- Pay on the website. You receive an email with your order number and a measurement form.
- Enter your measurements. Take them over the undergarment you will actually wear, with the tape snug and not tight.
- We check them, draft the pattern, cut it and post it.
Not sure how to take a measurement? Read how to measure for a blouse pattern. If a combination of measurements falls outside our drafting chart, we call you. We never guess a size the workshop cannot cut.
Cutting for many customers?
Boutiques and stitching units can also buy 13 blouse models as graded sets. See the standard size chart farma guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a farma and a pattern?
Nothing. Farma is the word tailors in South India use for the paper pattern used to cut a garment.
Do I need to add seam allowance?
No. It is already on the pattern, outside the cut line.
Can I buy a blouse farma in my size without measuring?
For one person, we draft from your measurements. If you cut for many customers, the standard size sets are the alternative.
